Superclocked for your Pleasure

EVGA GeForce 9600 GT Video Card Superclocked Edition

This is a pretty good time for PC gamers. Video Card companies are gladly fighting to get us the best bang for our buck. The fervor of card releases has only been matched by the new games they're designed to run. The high and low-end consumers were treated to a nice windfall of new gen video cards, at both ends of the price spectrum. Now, its time for the mid-range upgrades, and EVGA has a robust offering, designed to break previous hard ceiling limitations. Better bargain for considerably faster performance is the game, and EVGA hopes you pick up their GeForce 9600 GT Superclocked Edition to help you become a major player.

The EVGA GeForce 9600 GT Superclocked Edition offers some nice upgrades that should satisfy the mid-range, budget-minded gamer. It is a PCI Express 2.0 single-slot card in a really nice slim design, which surprisingly produces less heat and noise. The Superclocked Edition features a 675MHz clock speed with 1800GHz memory, and 1674MHz shaders. The memory is connected via a 256-bit memory interface to the GPU, that allows for 57.6GB memory bandwidth. Connectivity includes a pair of dual-link, HDCP-enabled DVI outputs for connection to analog/digital PC monitors and HDTVs, and an analog video-out port that supports S-Video directly. Lets not forget about 2-way SLI. The guesswork is pretty much done for us when you look at the dollar per FPS, especially for an SLI configuration.

Though not based on an entire new architecture, the improved technologies demonstrate that this is more than a mere upgrade. The DirectX 10 ready core is built on the 65nm process and features 64 stream processors. The stream processors on the EVGA GeForce 9600 GT Superclocked operate at 1674MHz, approximately 20% improvement over the first-generation stream processors in the GeForce 8800 GTX. By using 64 stream processors at a higher clock, the GPU operates more efficiently and requires fewer transistors than a slower, wider design. It also has new enhancements to NVIDIA PureVideo HD making it ideal for use in home theater applications. The updated decoder improves HD playback, and unloads the processing of HD content off of your CPU, and onto your Video Card. Additional support include faster dual-stream decode acceleration, dynamic contrast enhancement, and automatic enhancement of green, blue, and skin tone colors. This results in Video playback that is smooth with both standard- and high-definition content, with excellent color reproduction. This is a hot new card, but in a good way - trust me.

This EVGA GeForce 9600 GT is a card that deserves its Supeclocked label. What you get is very good performance, at a reasonable price - plain and simple. It is definitely worth considering, and we're here to help with our low prices. Be sure to check us out.
